The mass of the building is composed of two wings, aligned in a single line, offset in level from one another. The design of the mass was intended to be timelessly honest, taking the archetypal form of the basic house and transforming it into a modern linear figure. The aim was to create beautiful, relaxed proportions, clean shapes and elegant yet cozy spaces. The façades are rendered in modern, refined dark colors, surrounded by exposed concrete surfaces, anthracite grey window frames and aluminum structures. The subtle materials are turned into a fresh whole by the asymmetrical playfulness of the mass and the free placement of the openings. As a result, the mass of the building is rather a background than a protagonist. The emphasis is on the garden and the green surroundings, the building provides a worthy setting for these.

Characteristics of the plot are particularly favorable. Its very long southern side offers a great opportunity to have lots of sunlight on a major part of the building. The view on the southern side is also very attractive, as it overlooks the tree-covered part of the neighboring plot which will never be built on. Across the street there is a forest, hence there are also nice views to the east. The street is a dead-end with little traffic, so you can pleasantly sit outside on the street side as well, without anything compromising intimacy. The northern façade is strictly closed, because the neighboring building is close and relatively robust in this direction, so we tried to avoid overlooking it as much as possible. Thanks to the dense hedge along the fence, privacy is ensured from this side as well.

 

The ground floor will have a pergola with shading lamellae all around. Between the enclosed living spaces and the sunny garden, we have created a shady interstitial space with beautiful striped shadows. Our main goal was to accompany the enclosed interior space of the living room with an open, covered inbetween space, which complements the ground floor from early spring to late autumn and gives a very nice frame in winter. All this is surrounded by a private garden. The result is the atmosphere of a real family house.
